There is only trip during fall break, and it is offered free of charge to student participants. It is a great introduction to service at Wake Forest as well as a prime opportunity to experience the university’s birthplace.
For the past several years, the Fall Break Service Trip team has traveled to Wake County, NC, to focus on the issue of homelessness. Students have been hosted by families affiliated with the Grace Haven Baptist Fellowship, some of whom are alumni of Wake Forest University. The team has worked with various shelters in the Raleigh shelter system. The trip includes a visit to the original Wake Forest College campus and lunch at the original Shorty’s.
There is no application for this trip. Interested students should contact Brad Shugoll, University Fellow for the Division of Campus Life, at firstname.lastname@example.org. Space is limited and registration is accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Students serious about committing to the trip should contact Brad early in the Fall semester.
There will be one large group meeting with participants and staff prior to the trip departure. Students with questions about the trip can contact Brad Shugoll or Shelley Sizemore, Assistant Director of Campus Life & Service at email@example.com.
